International Idea and Developer Competition ctrlX developR Challenge open to automation engineers with ideas for new approaches to automation innovation.
Bosch Rexroth launched the ctrlX developR Challenge competition to invite the creation of new innovative applications and programs that take advantage of the company’s advanced capabilities ctrlX CORE automation control system.
The International Ideas and Developers Competition is open to all entrants who register by December 31, 2021 and whose application is accepted by the competition judges. In the application, applicants are asked to provide personal information as well as a brief description of their concept and which of the five design categories of the competition their proposed project fits into:
- Simplify engineering: new ideas for connecting complex processes, systems and applications and making them faster, simpler and easier to use;
- Extend and connect: ways to build on existing ctrlX AUTOMATION infrastructure in the smartest, most creative and useful way;
- Improve automation: AI-like applications or solutions that teach systems to think, work, and play autonomously and without supervision;
- Empowering the user: Innovative concepts spanning applications ranging from human-computer interaction and mobile automation and robotics to projects that positively influence society and our planet;
- Create your own: Break the mold and think outside the box creatively with ideas for a whole new app that goes beyond the given categories.

Applications will be assessed in January 2022 and competition entrants will be selected by February. Contest entrants will also benefit from special Bosch Rexroth mentors to help answer questions and provide specific project-related suggestions on how to bring their design ideas to life, as well as support from other members of the ctrlX World automation community. .
Throughout the duration of the challenge, there will be continuous communication between the participants and Bosch Rexroth via social media. The development and implementation phase runs until April 30, 2022, after which competition finalists will be selected to participate in a special online “pitch event” in front of an industry judging panel, who will select the winners. of the competition.
